“Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hears my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me.” – Revelation 3:20 (KJV)

The church in Laodicea became lukewarm over time. Their zeal for Christ had waned. They were saying to themselves they were rich, increased with goods, and in need of nothing (Revelation 3:17). Thus, they became complacent and compromised their relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ. They relegated Jesus to the background; Jesus Christ was now knocking on the door of their heart to remind them of how far they have fallen.

Dear beloved, don’t allow anything to kill the zeal you have for Christ. After God has made you rich and you are enjoying peace and comfort, remember to continually rekindle the zeal and fire in you so that you don’t become lukewarm. Remember, Jesus Christ had so much zeal for the LORD that the Holy Scriptures recorded it for our learning (John 2:17).

Beloved, make time for prayer, fasting, studying the Word, and attending fellowship in the church to keep your zeal alive for Jesus Christ. Hallelujah! Praise the Lord!

Prayer Point: My dear Lord Jesus Christ, thank You for encouraging me to keep the zeal for You continually rekindled. I put Your Word to work. I go ahead to pray without ceasing, fast, study Your Word, delight myself in Your work, and fellowship with the brethren in church to keep my zeal for You alive. Amen!
