In whom ye also [trusted], after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that Holy Spirit of promise. Ephesians 1:13

When you came to Jesus…you were sealed with the Holy Spirit of promise. What does a seal do? Kings would put their royal seal on a document to prove to everyone around that this was authentic and the decree was actually made by the King. If you saw that seal – you knew this was a royal decree.

The Holy Spirit living within us is God’s official seal which indicates we belong to Him…it is a guarantee of our inheritance as a Child of God. It is not an emotional feeling or some mysterious inward experience. This is God’s guarantee that we are HIS! When you belong to God, there is nothing that can take you away from Him.

You can walk through the darkest valley of despair and you will still belong to God. You can have people walk away from you and reject you and you will still belong to God. You can lose everything you possess in this world and you will still belong to God.

Be encouraged today. You have the seal of the Holy Spirit upon your life. It is official: you belong to God and nothing can take that away
