“Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching.” – Hebrews 10:25 (KJV)
Walking in the manner of Christ Jesus guarantees continual growth and development in the Kingdom of God. There are many habits in this life that can be categorized as either good or evil.
The opening scripture addresses a good habit called Christian fellowship. God loves fellowship, as can be seen in the beginning, where He visited Adam and Eve from time to time to fellowship or commune with them (Genesis 3:8).
In the New Testament, He has given us the church and the Holy Spirit to facilitate fellowship with His children.
Dear beloved, we should remember that we are the saints, His holy children, called with a holy calling to do His bidding (2 Timothy 1:9). Thus, the wrong behavior of absenting yourself from corporate fellowship and worship in church and other gatherings of your local church is not from God; it is an evil habit or behavior.
Some Christians have missed vital blessings by absenting themselves from church meetings. Let us learn from Jesus Christ’s life by having a custom of being present in church meetings (Luke 4:16).
Corporate worship in church increases our bond of love for one another as we pray for one another, assist one another, and intensify fellowship with the Holy Spirit.
Therefore, keep participating in corporate worship and fellowship in your local church, and you will be blessed much more than the one who is in the habit of missing this. Hallelujah! Be a participant!
Prayer Point: Dear heavenly Father, thank you for teaching me to participate in corporate worship in my local church.
Please always remind me and enable me to always be present for corporate worship and fellowship, in Jesus’ name. Amen!
