“Then said Jesus unto him, Put up again thy sword into his place: for all they that take the sword shall perish with the sword.” – Matthew 26:52 (KJV)
Following the commands of Christ Jesus leads to peace. Peter obeyed the Lord by putting the sword in its place, and peace ensued between the disciples and the Roman soldiers.
The disciples had two swords: The Word of God (spiritual sword) and a long knife (physical sword). Remember that the Roman soldiers only had physical weapons of all kinds, which they were ready to use, but Jesus Christ’s leadership brought peace in their midst.
Dear friend, which of these swords do you like using? It is good as a child of God to be security conscious to protect yourself against theft, robbery, attack, etc., but our ultimate security and dependence should rest on the Word of God, which is the sword of the Spirit (Ephesians 6:17).
Search the Holy Scriptures every day to find answers to all your challenges; meditate on them day and night and do what they say as you are led by the Spirit of God (Joshua 1:8).
When you do what is expected of you in His Word, He will also do His part, and you will enjoy the peace, joy, prosperity, and victories He has promised. Hallelujah! God bless you!
Prayer Point: Dear heavenly Father, thank you for your Word. Please lead me to search and find answers in your Holy Scriptures and to use them to meet all my needs, in Jesus’ name. Amen!
