“Some trust in chariots, and some in horses: but we will remember the name of the LORD our God.” – Psalms 20:7 (KJV)
The Word of God has thrown light on the kinds of people we have in society. There are some who trust in their chariots:
chariots are two-wheeled, horse-drawn battle carts of ancient times, used also in processions and races. Others trust in their horses.
Chariots provide comfort and protection while horses provide speed. That is why some people put their trust in them. The child of God is expected to put his or her trust in the name of God.
Beloved, remember that the name of the Lord is a strong tower; the righteous run to it and are safe (Proverbs 18:10). In our world today, everybody is seeking comfort and speed to accomplish their desire.
As children of God, our comfort come from the name of the Lord; therefore, we must remember to put our trust in Him (John 15:5, Mark 16:17–18).
If we put our trust in His name, then we are bound to succeed because His name does not fail. Apostle Peter trusted in His name and he was able to help the cripple walk again (Acts 3:1–8). Hallelujah! Glory to God!
Prayer Point: My precious Father, thank You for Your Word. Indeed, it is a lamp to my feet and light to my path.
I put my trust in You and use Your name, the name of Jesus Christ, every day to transform my life, family, job, business, and the society within which I find myself. Amen!
