“I have set the LORD always before me: because he is at my right hand, I shall not be moved.” – Psalm 16:8 (KJV)
Where you set the Lord determines your stability. The God we serve is a jealous God, thus He does not want to share His place with anybody. He commanded the children of Israel not to worship any other god except Him (Exodus 20:3–5). This command also goes to New Testament believers as well. If you allow anything else to take first place in your life, He will not be effective in your life.
The psalmist gave the first place in his life by setting God always before him and putting Him at his right hand. Then the Lord was happy for what he did, so He established him.
Dear beloved, where have you set the Lord in your life? In this technological era, lots of things are competing for our attention, so it will have to take discipline and determination to give God first place in your life. You need the help of the Holy Spirit to constantly remind you to do it. When David set God before him, he was able to defeat Goliath with a sling and a stone (1 Samuel 17:45–50).
Beloved, love God with all your heart, mind, and strength, and give Him the attention that He deserves; He will establish and use you to His glory. Hallelujah! God bless you!
Prayer Point: My dear heavenly Father, I’m so grateful for Your Word of life. I dedicate my heart, mind, and strength to love You and give You the attention and first place in my life. Please let me not compromise Your place in my life, so that You can establish me and use me to Your glory in Jesus’ name. Amen!
