Behold, I go forward, but he [is] not [there]; and backward, but I cannot perceive him: 9 On the left hand, where he doth work, but I cannot behold [him]: he hideth himself on the right hand, that I cannot see [him]: 10 But he knoweth the way that I take: [when] he hath tried me, I shall come forth as gold. 11 My foot hath held his steps, his way have I kept, and not declined. Job 23:8-11

One of the biggest questions people are asking through this time we are facing as a nation right now is this: where is God in all of this? Many are like Job in the midst of his time of personal trial: I’ve looked everywhere but I can’t seem to see the hand of God in any of this. He looked to all points of the compass where he might rationally expect to find God, but all in vain. Because in times like this – our rational mind cannot understand how God fits in to the difficult time we face whether it be personal time or this corporate time as a nation.

Here is the good news: when you cannot rationally explain what God is doing…you are forced to trust His divine providence and protection.

Dear believer, there was still something within Job that rose up and gave him the ability to say: “He knoweth the way that I take”. Even though I can’t see Him…He sees me. Even though I can’t understand His ways…He is completely aware of my ways. I know that when I come out of this, my life will be purified and I will shine forth with a spiritual brilliance beyond what I have ever had.

I firmly believe that what we are facing right now will be used to purify the church and she will come out stronger and full of faith. So even though we don’t have the complete understanding of all that God is doing right now – let’s trust Him together.

If we stay faithful He will work this out to purify us and make the light of Jesus within us more brilliant than it has ever been.
