“Keep back thy servant also from presumptuous sins; let them not have dominion over me: then shall I be upright, and I shall be innocent from the great transgression. Let the words of my mouth, and the meditation of my heart, be acceptable in thy sight, O Lord, my strength, and my redeemer.” Psalm 19:13–14 (KJV)
Sin is simply the transgression of God’s law. Almighty God has laws governing everything He has made (Genesis 2:16–27). For us human beings, we can know His laws because He has made them available to us. The Holy Bible contains all the laws that He wants us to live by.
The psalmist prayed to God asking Him to help Him avoid willful or deliberate sin. Deliberate sins have severe consequences because of your awareness of them before committing them (Hebrews 10:26–27).
Dear beloved, let the Word of God govern your words and actions, and you will avoid willful sins. Meditate on the Holy Scriptures day and night and observe to follow God’s Word, and then you will prosper. Don’t allow sin to rob you of peace, joy, and the prosperity that God has destined for you. Live an upright life, and God will be pleased with you and keep favoring you.
Hallelujah! Be an overcomer!
Prayer Point: Dear Holy Spirit, please enlighten me and guide me to avoid willful sins, amen!
