“According to my earnest expectation and my hope, that in nothing I shall be ashamed, but that with all boldness, as always, so now also Christ shall be magnified in my body, whether it be by life, or by death.” – Philippians 1:20 (KJV)
Being ashamed is being reluctant to do something through fear of embarrassment or humiliation. It is a common feeling that is mostly negative because it refrains you from standing bold to do good works for the Lord.
Apostle Paul was aware of this and vowed in the name of Jesus Christ never to be ashamed of anything but to magnify Jesus Christ in his preaching and body, whether by life or death.
Dear beloved, what is your expectation and hope in Christ Jesus? Some want good jobs, marriage, children, houses, cars, an increase in faith, continual joy, good health, etc. All these will be done for you by the Lord if you can be bold to do what He has assigned you to do.
Remember that being ashamed of the gospel of Christ will rob you of the blessings of God; you can even lose rewards in heaven from failing to testify about the goodness of Christ Jesus to the lost (Mark 8:38).
Beloved, whatever is making you ashamed of the gospel, the time has come for you to confront it; command it to disappear in Jesus’ name, and go ahead and preach the gospel, and do what the Lord is asking you to do for Him.
Then there will be no end to your growth and blessings. Hallelujah! Be bold!
Prayer Point: Dear heavenly Father, thank you for your Word. Please empower me by your Spirit to be bold to always stand for you in preaching the gospel and serving you, in Jesus’ name. Amen!
