“But I say unto you, that ye resist not evil: but whosoever shall smite thee on thy right cheek, turn to him the other also.” – Matthew 5:39 (KJV)

A vindictive person is someone who has or shows a strong or unreasoning desire for revenge. As children of God, revenge is not our duty, because our heavenly Father says, “Vengeance is Mine, I will repay” (Hebrews 10:30).

If a brother, or someone sins against you, forgive them because we are all fallible. Leave the case to God and go about your usual duty toward God and humanity.

Never make any wrongdoer out to be an evil person and pray or wish for their death or pain. If Jesus Christ said we should turn the other cheek to our offenders, it means that we can do it. Why? We have the Holy Spirit, our Comforter, and Strengthener, to help us in healing our hearts and minds to live at peace with all men and women (Romans 12:18).

He will also guide you in what to do if the offender keeps doing the offense. Sometimes He will tell you to avoid them and pray for them. At other times, He may tell you to seek counsel from a good counselor or pastor or to use the law of the state to straighten up the person. But first speak with your offender to let them know their fault before proceeding further, and God will bless you and make you a role model. Hallelujah! Be an overcomer!

Prayer Point: Dear heavenly Father, thank you for your Word. Please give me wisdom to know how to handle my offenders and live at peace with all men, in Jesus’ name. Amen!
