“As far as the east is from the west, so far hath he removed our transgressions from us.” – Psalm 103:12 (KJV)
The love of God for His children is so deep that we ought to celebrate Him every day for the things He is doing in our lives. There are many things He does for us without our asking. For example, we didn’t ask Him to send His beloved Son, Jesus Christ, to die and pay the penalty of our sin on the cross of Calvary. As a matter of fact, when Adam and Eve, our great grandparents, sinned against God, they never asked Him for forgiveness, but each blamed someone else for their transgression.
Adam was bold to blame God for giving him a wife which he had previously praised God for (Genesis 3:12–13). Even though God became angry and judged them, He clothed them in good clothing. He also promised to send a Saviour to pay the penalty of that sin, and He fulfilled His promise in our Lord Jesus Christ (Genesis 3:15, Matthew 27:45–51)).
Dear beloved, meditate on the opening scripture and celebrate the LORD for His goodness. In this month of joy, consider all the things God is doing in your life and praise Him for them. Don’t be ungrateful by thinking about what you don’t have and be worried. Remember that transgressions or sins are the cause of diseases, decay, violence, pain, sorrow, disappointment, rejection, death, etc. Thus, if God keeps forgiving your sins or transgressions, praise and thank Him.
Beloved, now that you enjoy forgiveness from God, learn to also forgive your fellow human beings who wrong you; rejoice in the Lord for giving you a heart that forgives, and He will give you the grace to forget their wrongs (1 John 1:9). Hallelujah! Be an overcomer!
Prayer Point: Dear heavenly Father, thank You for sending Jesus Christ to pay the penalty of the sin of humanity. I’m grateful that any time I sin unintentionally and ask for forgiveness, You are glad to forgive me.
Please continually give me a loving heart to always forgive others who sin against me and to be able to forget it over time in Jesus’ name. Amen!
