“He that hath knowledge spareth his words: and a man of understanding is of an excellent spirit.” – Proverbs 17:27 (KJV)

As a child of God, do you desire or yearn for an excellent life? If you do, then the opening scripture has given you the keys to greater heights. The key is to have godly knowledge and divine understanding.

Beloved, godly knowledge is acquired from the Word of God and it helps you to use words carefully. Words are so powerful they can lead to your liberty or bondage. No wonder Jesus Christ said by your words you shall be justified or condemned (Matthew 12:37).

Secondly, having divine understanding makes you an excellent person; having divine understanding helps you to solve problems and makes you a solution to others. Ask God for divine understanding from a sincere heart, and when you have received it, use it to promote the work of God.

Remember that the knowledge of the holy one is understanding (Proverbs 9:10). Thus, place a premium on the Holy Scriptures and meditate on them day and night while practicing them, and you will gain understanding to excel in every aspect of your life, just like Daniel who had an excellent spirit (Daniel 6:3).
