“But Jesus said, Forbid him not: for there is no man which shall do a miracle in my name, that can lightly speak evil of me.” – Mark 9:39 (KJV)
The disciples of Jesus Christ were very mindful of those who were not part of them, and so on this occasion, they found a man casting out demons in the name of Christ and forbade him. Jesus Christ made it clear to them that they should allow such a person to do the work for Him because he is part of the universal church.
Beloved, the universal church comprises Christians all over the world as part of the body of Christ. Therefore, do not discriminate against churches or brethren who do not belong to your church. The most important thing to consider is that the person is born again and he or she is doing the work of the Lord with passion and love.
Dear beloved, are you a member of the universal church? Are you working for the Lord? To be a member of the universal church is simply believing in Jesus Christ and declaring Him as Lord and personal Savior of your life (Romans 10:9–10). Thereafter, get a Holy Bible and join a local church in fellowship, where they will raise you to be more committed and useful for the Lord (Hebrews 10:25). Praise the Lord!
Prayer Point: My righteous Lord Jesus, I am so glad that You are the head of the universal church. Please help me to always be committed to my local church in fellowship and work of the ministry. I pray for all Christians that we will love one another as Jesus Christ loves us and eschew discrimination. Amen!
