“Many are the afflictions of the righteous: but the LORD delivereth him out of them all.” – Psalm 34:19 (KJV)

The righteous in our dispensation are all the people on the earth who believe in Jesus Christ and have accepted Him as Lord and Savior of their lives. The only righteousness God accepts is the one imputed on those who believe in Jesus Christ, because mankind’s righteousness is like a filthy rag before Him (2 Corinthians 5:21, Isaiah 64:6).

Dear beloved, are you righteous? If you believe in Jesus Christ and have made Him the Lord and personal Savior of your life, then you are righteous (Romans 10:9–10). Be bold to declare that you are righteous by faith without feeling any sense of guilt.

Beloved, now that you are righteous, meditate on the opening scripture and gain a heart of wisdom. What do you see? You can see that you are not insulated from afflictions. Truthfully, they will be many, but the good news is that you will be delivered from all of them. Therefore, do not be surprised or worried by the numerous challenges you may be going through today, even as you read this message.

Beloved, let your gaze be on Jesus Christ, who will deliver you from all your challenges or afflictions. When your mind is stayed on Him, you will enjoy peace during your afflictions (Isaiah 26:3).

Please bear in mind that without afflictions or challenges, your faith will be dormant, and you cannot grow to maturity spiritually. Therefore, go through the challenges or afflictions with joy, relying on the Word of God and the strength of the Holy Spirit, and become mature for greater responsibilities and blessings (James 1:2–4). Hallelujah! Be an overcomer!

Prayer Point: Dear heavenly Father, thank you for your undiluted Word. I’m counting all my afflictions and challenges with joy. Please give me more grace to endure and go through them to have strong faith and maturity and to qualify for greater responsibilities and blessings, in Jesus’ name. Amen!
