“And Jesus, when he was baptized, went up straightway out of the water: and, lo, the heavens were opened unto him, and he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove, and lighting upon him:” – Matthew 3:16 (KJV)
Jesus Christ is our perfect example. Even though He is the Son of God, He submitted Himself to be baptized with water. Immediately He was baptized, the Holy Spirit descended upon Him like a dove. The descending of the Holy Spirit on Him signifies the baptism of the Holy Spirit (Matthew 3:11).
Thus, Jesus Christ was baptized with water and the Holy Spirit. As a Christian, Jesus Christ is your role model; so, you must be baptized with water and the Holy Spirit. The dove signifies the humility of the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit makes the believer in Christ humble to the Lord Jesus Christ and to any authority ordained by the LORD.
Dear beloved, follow the example of Jesus Christ by submitting to the baptism of water and the baptism of the Holy Spirit to receive the blessings therein. During the water baptism, one is immersed into the water, signifying the death and burial of Christ Jesus. When one is raised from the water, it signifies the resurrection of Christ into a new life (Romans 6:4). The Holy Spirit baptism empowers and ushers one into soul-winning (Acts 1:8).
Beloved, partake in both baptisms, and you will be amazed by what God will do in you and through you. Praise the Lord! God bless you!
Prayer Point: Dear heavenly Father, thank You for teaching me about water baptism and the Holy Spirit baptism. I submit myself to both baptisms and partake of the blessings therein.
Please let me be able to teach others so that they can also partake the blessings that water and Holy Spirit baptism provide in Jesus’ name. Amen.
