The first said unto him, I have bought a piece of ground, and I must needs go and see it: I pray thee have me excused. 19 And another said, I have bought five yoke of oxen, and I go to prove them: I pray thee have me excused. 20 And another said, I have married a wife, and therefore I cannot come. 21 So that servant came, and shewed his lord these things. Then the master of the house being angry said to his servant, Go out quickly into the streets and lanes of the city, and bring in hither the poor, and the maimed, and the halt, and the blind. 22 And the servant said, Lord, it is done as thou hast commanded, and yet there is room. 23 And the lord said unto the servant, Go out into the highways and hedges, and compel them to come in, that my house may be filled. 24 For I say unto you, That none of those men which were bidden shall taste of my supper.” – Luke 14:15-24

Shalom and great to have you back as we continue with the part 3 of our last weeks devotional “The Great Invitation”.

Beloved, from last we could see the message of grace. Why? Because people do not want to accept God’s gift, because they think they have money. They are not ready to accept the grace of God. I watched a documentary about Elon Musk who now owns Twitter. He was asked if he believed in God. He emphatically said he doe not believe in God but believes in science. My question is who made science? The first scientist was God. When he said let us create man, man came into being. Now man says let us create a robot. The robot can never be powerful than what God has created. He created living things so that alone tells you that God is the greatest scientist. We have been able to extract oil out of rocks and we make houses out of trees. The question is who made the tree and the rock for your scientific test? People of God, know that there is always a God.

Elon Musk is now launching spacecraft. What is he looking for in the space? If he believes in science then he should invest in creating his own space. Can he create his own space? Can he create his own moon? Can he create his own sun? That is not possible. We should appreciate God. If you do not want to serve God you should at least appreciate that there is somebody up there that created all things. Must also emphasized that he believed in science to make things. There were great scientists that ever lived before him and when they died, they accepted Jesus Christ. Beloved in Christ it is good for us to accept the great invitation. Hallelujah.

So there are three key things why people don’t accept God’s gifts. Number one is their Money; the second is because of accepting Responsibilities. When you accept Jesus Christ, you become responsible. There are certain lifestyles you cannot live anymore. There are places you cannot go, there are things you cannot do again and anytime you say I will not do it again, that decision is going to affect you but it will bring blessings to you. Therefore, the reason why many people are not ready to come to church is that they are not ready for responsibilities. The third one is Relationship. People do not want to have good relationship with God. They are just not ready for it. The money they have today can never be enough. The richest man will always seek to make more money and very soon because of a missing dollar from the much he has, he will resort to commit suicide. It is always never enough for the rich man.

Remember that whenever you come to church, you must be prepared to be responsible. Why do we come to church? We come to church to learn the way of Christ and apply to our life. If you are not ready to come to church then you are not ready to learn godly virtues to apply to your life. You and I, we are humble today because we want to be responsible. Finally, it is all about our relationship. You know relationship often stand in our way to serve God. The second rich man said that I have married and because of my relationship, I cannot come to the banquet. You know, when you are in a wrong relationship, you cannot serve God properly. Sometimes you can be in the right relationship. If you do not put things in order, your wife or husband can cause you to slow down in your service to God or can even cause you to never to serve God again. This is what God is teaching us that we should never allow our relationships to stop us from serving Him.

Jesus wants to teach us that whiles the invitation is for everyone, we have to accept the invitation to be with him. The Bible says that many are called, but few are chosen. You have to accept that you are part of the chosen people. Shout I have accepted it! Hallelujah.
