Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God. Hebrews 12:2 KJV

Looking unto Jesus means utterly trusting and depending on Him for salvation from acts of sin and their deathly effects of earthly ills as well as death in hell- just as the snake-bitten Israelites looked to the bronze serpent and were made whole (Numbers 21:9). This is what God’s word says.

On the Christian almanack, this week marks the “Holy Week”; It was the week before Jesus died. A week of Him sharing His final thoughts and goodbyes. One week of telling His disciples “I love you,” one last time. It was a week filled with pain and promise, leading up to one final, agonized proclamation: “It is finished.” Along With one last breath, Jesus became our final sacrifice. And because of His power over death, we can now become wholly alive.

President Trump appeared frustrated that the country would not emerge from its coronavirus lockdown soon even as he and other officials warned of a rising death toll and a continuance of restrictive measures for weeks and maybe months to come. There have been other projections that death toll will rise this week on going.

If the Israelites repentantly, gave their focus to the bronze serpent on the pole and got healed of “snake bit pandemic”, refocusing on the lamb on the pole in this holy week with faith, there is assurance of healing to the nations of the world bitten by Corona virus. By the end of this week, I hear the voice saying; “it is Finish.”
