“She looketh well to the ways of her household, and eateth not the bread of idleness.” – Proverbs 31:27 (KJV)

Eating the bread of idleness has the tendency to produce laziness. Thus, continually being idle while wishing that others will supply your needs when you are active and strong can make you lazy, leading to poverty and other consequences (Proverbs 24:33–34).

The child of God has the Word of God to learn from to be industrious in every good endeavour. The virtuous wife in the book of Proverbs didn’t give excuses to stay idle; she worked with her own hands to provide for her family. She didn’t decide that because her husband had a good job, she would not work but depend on her husband for everything.

Dear beloved, never give excuses to stay idle, because the devil will fill in your time and give you something evil to do for him. Idleness accounts for gossip, quarrels, backbiting, poverty, etc.

Beloved, ask the Holy Spirit to lead you to create a career or job for yourself or to lead you to find a job; do it with all you might to the glory of God, and be a blessing to the Lord and other people, especially the vulnerable in society. Hallelujah! Be enterprising!

Prayer Point: Dear heavenly Father, thank you for your Word. Please lead me to create a career for myself or to find a job and then do it well to be a blessing to you and my fellow human beings, in Jesus’ name. Amen!
