“The LORD is far from the wicked: but he heareth the prayer of the righteous.” – Proverbs 15:29 (KJV)

Knowing wickedness is the beginning of taking steps to walk away from it. Being wicked is doing evil or doing something that is morally wrong. Living a lifestyle of wickedness is a terrible place to be.

The opening scripture buttresses this point by saying that the Lord is far from the wicked and distances Himself from them. He is also angry with the wicked every day (Psalm 7:11). What the Lord expects from the wicked is repentance and a change of heart based on His Word.

Dear beloved, are you wicked? A child of God who is wicked has been deceived and is being influenced by the devil and his demons to continually hurt people. God will give you a short life if you do not repent and seek after righteousness.

The righteous, on the other hand, are close and dear to the Lord; He is always ready to hear their prayer and answer it. In the previous message, we learned about two reasons why our prayers are not being answered.

Today God wants to throw light on another reason why our prayers do not receive answers: Living in wickedness or sin keeps us from receiving answers to our prayer. Thus, let us learn from the lifestyle of Jesus Christ and imitate Him in the act of righteousness, and we will become vessels that God will bless and use to bless others (Acts 10:38). Hallelujah! Live righteously!

Prayer Point: Dear heavenly Father, thank you for teaching me to depart from wickedness and to live a righteous life. I promise to live and conduct myself in righteousness. Please give me the grace to always fulfill my promises, in Jesus’ name. Amen!
