“For we will destroy this place, because the cry of them is waxen great before the face of the Lord; and the Lord hath sent us to destroy it.” Genesis 19:13 (KJV)
The story of Sodom and Gomorrah has lessons to teach us today because the God whom we serve is the same yesterday, today, and forever (Hebrews 13:8). The people of Sodom and Gomorrah were so corrupt that they had no shame about forcing strangers to sleep with them as practicing gays (Genesis 19:5). Their corruption prompted God to destroy these two cities. Today people practice homosexuality and other sexual sins shamelessly.
VISION: Dear beloved, God hates sin and doesn’t condone it. Whatever sin you find yourself trapped in; you can come out of it. The first step is to hate sin. Secondly, acknowledge it when you sin against God. Finally, feel sorry for your sin and go to God for forgiveness.
Love righteousness by looking at the life of Christ. Imitate Him and you will overcome sin. Living a righteous life attracts the favor of God, and God will bless you abundantly (Proverbs 12:2). Hallelujah! Be righteousness conscious!
