But let your communication be, Yea, yea; Nay, nay: for whatsoever is more than these cometh of evil. Matthew 5:37
Communication is keen in search for spirituality. You should always communicate in such a way that people not only understand what you say, but also understand what you mean.
I love how Jesus taught us in this passage to mean what you say and to say what you mean. Your communication should not dance around the issues with people but rather hit the issue square on. If not – then you have opened the door for someone else to interpret what you say; and most of the time their interpretation will be the exact opposite of what you intend. Be straight to the point.
The purpose of communication is not to use a lot of fancy language only to impress people. What good does it do if they are impressed by what I say but not inspired to do anything about it? The goal of communication is not to impress but inspire to action. So, listen to yourself talk today.
Do you dance around the issues or do you speak directly from your heart? Your words are valuable…so use them wisely today!
