“Charge them that are rich in this world, that they be not high minded, nor trust in uncertain riches, but in the living God, who giveth us richly all things to enjoy; That they do good, that they be rich in good works, ready to distribute, willing to communicate; Laying up in store for themselves a good foundation against the time to come, that they may lay hold on eternal life.” – 1 Timothy 6:17-19 (KJV)

Putting your total trust in God is the beginning of earning His trust and enjoying His blessings. The will of God concerning His children is to make them rich. No wonder Jesus Christ became poor that through His poverty we might become rich (2 Corinthians 8:9).

Beloved, after God Has made you rich, there is a tendency to be swayed by your riches to trust in them. Apostle Paul knew this, so he charged Timothy to sound a word of caution to the rich in his ministry. Remember that in the ministry of our Lord Jesus Christ, a rich young man missed the Kingdom of heaven because of putting his trust in uncertain riches (Matthew 19:21–22).

Beloved, if God has made you rich, do not be high-minded or conceited and puffed up, but serve God in humility—using your wealth to promote the kingdom of God and the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ, and ministering to the needy. When you do these, you will be laying up treasures in heaven; the Lord will ensure that your wealth keeps growing from glory to glory till you join Him in heaven. Hallelujah! God bless you!

Prayer Point: My precious and faithful Father, I am grateful to know that You have plans to make me rich. Indeed, the power to make wealth comes from You. Please lead and guide me to use my wealth, riches, and all the resources You have given me to promote Your Kingdom and the gospel, and to minister to the needy and vulnerable in society in Jesus’ name. Amen!
