Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked. And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God: Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints; Eph. 6:16-18 (KJV)

The previous episode ended with the education on keeping reliable information not only on COVID-19, but also in our world we live in. Today, I will like us to take a look at what really the mind is and how the believer can protect the mind against ill information.

In our culture, we sometimes use the words brain and mind interchangeably even though they do refer to separate, although often overlapping concepts.

The brain is the physical place where the mind resides. It is a vessel in which contained the electronic impulses that create thought. While the mind is the self-organizing process, both embodied and relational, that regulates energy and information flow within our brain.

With the brain, you coordinate your moves, your organism, your activities, and transmit impulses. But you use the mind to think. You can consider what happened, what is scheduled, and what maybe will happen based on the information in your environment.

We may not be able to see in the ultraviolet range, but we may design instruments to do so. We may not be able to see atoms, but we can design experiments that enable us to know their properties. Each stage of scientific advancement has usually been made by trying to reach a logical conclusion consistent with our observations.

We no longer believe in demons as the cause of disease. We now believe in viruses, bacteria, genetic defects, and environmental pollution as the real causes of illness. Our irrational and unfounded “superstitions” have given way to “knowledge”.

However, a believer by the mindset gotten by Biblical knowledge, will have his or conclusions on what the word of God says. The believer must not hold to the pattern of the world knowledge, but must be transformed by the renewing of his or her mind. Then able to test and approve what God’s will is (Romans 12:2). So your mind in Christ is meant to absorb biblical information, then transform it into knowledge and put it in practice in time of misinformation.

It is the will of God for us to keep our mindset protected from misleading information circulating in the dark moment of our time on earth. Jesus has given us authority over the power of the enemy (Covid-19) and nothing shall in any way harm us (Lk. 10:17-19). Let God be true and every man (information) a liar. Whose report must you believe then? Protect your mindset in Christ.

Declare: My mind is settled in the promises of the lord. No situation can change it.
