Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked. And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God: Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints; Eph. 6:16-18 (KJV
March 27, 2020, 2:26 p.m. EST: During his Urbi et Orbi blessing and speech about the coronavirus, the Vatican reports that Pope Francis said:
“Why are you afraid? Have you no faith?” Lord, you are calling to us, calling us to faith. Which is not so much believing that you exist, but coming to you and trusting in you. This Lent your call reverberates urgently: “Be converted!”, “Return to me with all your heart” (Joel 2:12).
You are calling on us to seize this time of trial as a time of choosing. It is not the time of your judgement, but of our judgement: a time to choose what matters and what passes away, a time to separate what is necessary from what is not. It is a time to get our lives back on track with regard to you, Lord, and to others. We can look to so many exemplary companions for the journey, who, even though fearful, have reacted by giving their lives. This is the force of the Spirit poured out and fashioned in courageous and generous self-denial.
The message of the Pope in short is “the pandemic is not God’s judgement to humankind.” This wouldn’t sound well to some Evangelical Christian Sects because most are already preaching the anger of God and end time apocalypse. As I bring my long sermon or article to an end today on Protecting Your Mindset, I want us to look at how the believer can put on the protective weapon against misleading information amidst Corona virus pandemic. There by using the word of God as the measure against the rumours of our time (Eph. 6:16-18).

• Let us not be conform to the pattern of the world, but be transformed by the renewing of our mind that we may prove what the will of God is, that which is good, acceptable and perfect. Rom. 12:2
• For as he thinks in his heart (mind), so he is. Pov. 23:7 - Protect your mindset
• “Take up the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit (make use of your biblical knowledge). Eph. 6:16-17
• Joshua refused to compromise his mindset. So should believer be resolved. Joshua 24:15b - Build on your spiritual mindset
• Your mindset as a believer is the collection of your faith in Christ Jesus and knowledge in the word of God.
• The mindset of the flesh is death, but the mindset on the Spirit is life and peace (Rom. 8:6)
• Be committed to the things you’ve learnt by faith and put them into practice.
Finally brothers, whatever is true, whatever is venerable, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable–if any excellence and if any praise–think on these things. Phil. 4:8
