“In righteousness shalt thou be established: thou shalt be far from oppression; for thou shalt not fear: and from terror; for it shall not come near thee.” – Isaiah 54:14 (KJV)
Knowing that righteousness is God’s nature and way of life is the beginning of living a righteous life. Righteousness is simply defined as loving what God loves, hating what God hates, and doing what God does. As children of God, the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit are our parents; they are called the trinity (1 John 5:7–8). They are the most holy and righteous personalities in heaven and on earth. Thus, if there is any personality you want to choose as your role model, choose them. In fact, the reason for Jesus’ coming is to make it easier to imitate God, because Jesus Christ is the express image of the Father (Hebrews 1:3). So, if you follow Jesus Christ, you are following the Father and you are bound to be righteous in all your ways.
Jesus Christ lived on earth as a man, and usually called Himself the Son of man (Mark 10:45). He experienced all that mankind is going through – tiredness, pain, poverty, persecution, strength – and bore the sin of mankind. Thus, He is the best role model for righteousness.
Dear beloved, are you living a righteous life? It is the only way to be free from oppression, fear, sin, and terror because Jesus Christ went through all of them on the cross for your sake. Thus, we can count on His strength in the person of the Holy Spirit and live in righteousness and be blessed. Praise the Lord! God bless you!
Prayer Point: Dear heavenly Father, thank You for imputing Your righteousness on me and giving me the Holy Spirit to direct me. I cooperate with the Holy Spirit today to live out Your righteousness through me so that I can love what You love, hate what You hate, and do what You do, in Jesus’ name.
