For which cause we faint not; but though our outward man perish, yet the inward man is renewed day by day. For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, worketh for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory; While we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen: for the things which are seen are temporal; but the things which are not seen are eternal.” – 2 Corinthians 4:16–18 (KJV)

The Kingdom of God is the best place to live. You cannot fail if you understand God and walk with Him according to His terms. His methods of working vary according to His thoughts (Isaiah 55:9). The opening scripture reveals some of His methods of operation.

  • First, He rescued mankind from the consequences of spiritual death through salvation in Christ Jesus; the outward man, which is the body, will perish, but the inward man, which is the spirit of the born again Christian, is renewed every day.
  • Second, God uses affliction, or godly suffering, to prepare us for eternal glory, which far exceeds earthly glory (Matthew 5:11–12).
  • Third, He has given us a special ability through the Holy Spirit to see eternal things to thirst after them and be filled.

Dear beloved, how much glory do you want? The bigger the glory, the more numerous the suffering or affliction. Let the glory be your focus, and you will be able to suffer for it just like Jesus Christ did, despising the shame (Hebrews 12:2).

Hallelujah! You are an overcomer!

Prayer Point: My dear heavenly Father, thank you for inspiring me by your Word. Thanks again for giving me your Spirit to renew my spirit and to help me endure the little affliction in Christ Jesus to prepare me to receive the eternal weight of glory beyond human comprehension and measure. Amen!
