“God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.” – Psalms 46:1 (KJV)

Knowing that God is your refuge drives fear away. The children of God are the light of the world; they are required to show the world the direction they are to go (Matthew 5:14-16). However, some of God’s children are not living up to expectations; they are tossed back and forth by the world.

Beloved, being tossed to and fro by the world makes you a babe in Christ. The opening Scripture seeks to give believers in Christ Jesus knowledge for living. God is our place of protection, our might, our strength, and always available when we need Him. Let this consciousness be in you so that you do not depend on anyone for help. Your dependence should be on the Holy Scriptures because the Word of God is God (John 1:1).

The Word of God is where we can find refuge or protection, strength, and help in times of need. Hallelujah! Dear beloved, who have you put in your confidence? Can that person help you? The Word of God says cursed is the one who puts his confidence in man (Jeremiah 17:5). Remember that human beings are limited in so many ways; they can change their mind and disappoint you; they are not independent and can lose what they have, they can even be indisposed or die. Thus, they cannot be relied upon.

Beloved, let God know that you trust Him and depend on Him, and He will be available to assist you as He did for Hannah (1 Samuel 1:9–28). Hallelujah! God bless you!

Prayer Point: My dear heavenly Father, Your Word is sweeter than honey and the honeycomb, and I love it. I put my trust in You and make You my refuge and strength. You are also my help, and I will always count on You. I make myself available to You, please use me to be of help to someone who needs help in Jesus’ name. Amen!
