“And John was clothed with camel’s hair, and with a girdle of a skin about his loins; and he did eat locusts and wild honey; And preached, saying, There cometh one mightier than I after me, the latchet of whose shoes I am not worthy to stoop down and unloose.” – Mark 1:6–7 (KJV)

God has work to do in heaven and on Earth. He also made work an inherent part of human beings. Remember that when He created Adam and Eve, He gave them dominion over everything on the earth (Genesis 1:28). Even in the Garden of Eden, He gave them charge to tend and keep it (Genesis 2:15). They erred by not focusing on the work and will of God, and they lost their authority and place.

We thank God for the coming of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Before He began His ministry, John the Baptist preceded Him to prepare the way for Him.

John the Baptist was very focused on the assignment given to him by God. He was content with camel hair, a leather band, locusts, and wild honey as his clothing and food. His focus was the work God had given him, and he was able to complete it.

Beloved, are you focused on God’s work? He is in the business of saving souls and blessing and nourishing them. Don’t focus on the blessings such as food, clothing, shelter, money, etc., and lose sight of the assignment He has given you.

Be content with His provisions for your life, and instead focus on your assignment and complete it (Hebrews 13:5).

Remember that Jesus Christ completed His assignment, and you can also complete it when you focus on yours (John 19:30). Hallelujah! God bless you!

Prayer Point: Dear heavenly Father, thank you for your provisions for my life. I focus on your work today till its completion because therein lies my blessings, in Jesus’ name. Amen
