“And it came to pass, that while he executed the priest’s office before God in the order of his course, According to the custom of the priest’s office, his lot was to burn incense when he went into the temple of the Lord.” – Luke 1:8–9 (KJV)
God primarily speaks to our spirits. Thus, as a child of God, if you want to hear the voice of God, nourish your spirit with the Word of God and live in holiness and righteousness.
Many times we cloud our hearts with unnecessary things that keep us from hearing the voice of God, even though He’s been speaking to us continually. Sometimes He chooses to speak to us through holy men and women of God or through dreams, visions, good thoughts, signs, events, etc.
Dear beloved, would you believe that the feeling of giving up in the work God has called you to do is a sign of God speaking to you? Yes, the sign of giving up in doing good and in the challenges you are going through is a sign that you are closer to your miracle (Matthew 26:39).
In the Kingdom of God, it is normal to feel like giving up, but actually, giving up is unacceptable. In the opening scripture, Zacharias felt like giving up his priestly duties, and one could tell that he had already given up on their ability to have children by his response to the angel of the Lord (Luke 1:18). Nonetheless, God visited him, and his wife conceived and gave birth to John the Baptist. He would have missed his miracle if he had given up on his priestly duties as well.
Dear beloved, never give up on God and stop the work that you are doing for Him, because therein lies your miracle and the answers you are looking for. Learn from Zacharias’s story; remain faithful to God, and He will visit you. Hallelujah! Be an overcomer!
Prayer Point: Dear heavenly Father, thank you for your Word. I feel like giving up in the situation I find myself in, but I won’t give up on you. Please give me the grace to press on till the end in Jesus’ name. Amen!
