“Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before,” – Philippians 3:13 (KJV)
Apostle Paul, in his walk with the Lord Jesus, devised a principle for himself so that he could be self-motivated to press on with the work of the ministry. All his achievements were put behind him so that he could move on to greater heights to finish what God has called him to do. He wants us to do the same in the kingdom of God.
In the kingdom of God, you have to live beyond complacency. Living beyond complacency leads to success upon success. Our Lord Jesus Christ made His Father’s will His food so that could finish the work assigned to Him (John 4:34).
Beloved, there is more that we can achieve for the Lord when we don’t become complacent with what we have already achieved. Devise a principle for yourself so that you can continue to build on your past achievement or success. Remaining in your past glory is an enemy to your future glory.
There are more souls to win and retain; there is more wealth to acquire to help the poor and vulnerable people in society. In other words, there is more room for improvement till you get to heaven. Ask for more grace and keep moving from glory to glory. Hallelujah!
Prayer Point: My dear heavenly Father, thank You for cautioning me in Your Word. Indeed, complacency is an enemy of progress and success. Please continually remind me to outdo my past achievements in order to do greater works for You in Jesus’ name. Amen!
