“Beloved, when I gave all diligence to write unto you of the common salvation, it was needful for me to write unto you, and exhort you that ye should earnestly contend for the faith which was once delivered unto the saints. For there are certain men crept in unawares, who were before of old ordained to this condemnation, ungodly men, turning the grace of our God into lasciviousness, and denying the only Lord God, and our Lord Jesus Christ.” – Jude 3–4 (KJV)

Contending for the faith makes you unshakeable. As a child of God, making sure that you are not deceived to lose your place in the Kingdom of God is your responsibility. Thus Jude was writing in the right direction when he wrote to believers in his day to be alert and guard their faith against false teachers.

Some of these false teachers were probably born again but were lured by the devil to believe in wrong doctrines and became agents of the devil.

Brethren, fight for your faith through listening to sound doctrine, prayer, and fellowship with the Holy Spirit. Don’t believe any teaching till you have assessed it with the Holy Scriptures, especially with the words of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Jesus Christ is the end of the law, so every teaching must be founded on Him (Romans 10:4). Never compromise the Word of God, your time of prayer, or the fellowship of the Holy Spirit, and you will stand firm against false teachers and prophets. Hallelujah! Be an overcomer!

Prayer Point: Dear Holy Spirit, please give me the spirit of discernment to identify false teachings and avoid them. Also help me to cherish your Word, fellowship, and prayer time in Jesus’ name. Amen!
