“As obedient children, not fashioning yourselves according to the former lusts in your ignorance: But as he which hath called you is holy, so be ye holy in all manner of conversation; Because it is written, Be ye holy; for I am holy.” 1 Peter 1:14–16 (KJV)

Knowing that you are an obedient child of God makes it easy to live in submission to the Word of God. The first Adam rebelled against God and plunged the entire human race into sin (Romans 3:23), but the last Adam (Jesus Christ) redeemed mankind and made it possible for us to live in obedience to God. Thus when a person becomes born again, God regards him or her as an obedient child because he or she has accepted the offer of salvation.

And as an obedient child of God, the Most High God expects you to have knowledge of His Word in order to know Him and what He has made you to be in Christ Jesus (Hosea 4:6). When you know that your heavenly Father is holy and He has sanctified you to also be holy, you will love to live a holy life to please Him.

Dear beloved, don’t compromise holy living, because if you do, you can easily be led into your former lusts and sin against God. You have power over sin, so live a holy life unto God. He will be closer to you, and nothing will come between you and your blessings (Romans 6:14).

Hallelujah! Be holy!
