“Whosoever therefore shall be ashamed of me and of my words in this adulterous and sinful generation; of him also shall the Son of man be ashamed, when he cometh in the glory of his Father with the holy angels.” – Mark 8:38 (KJV)

Jesus Christ knows every generation. He called the generation in His days on the earth an adulterous and sinful generation. In other words, it was a generation that loved sin rather than righteousness. The generation He met in His days is not so much different from our current generation regarding sin.

Our generation has seen lots of advancement in knowledge and technology. Thus, sin has taken on innovative proportions. The question to ask is, if one is not ashamed to sin in this generation, why is one ashamed to act in righteousness?

Dear beloved, choosing to live for Jesus Christ in this generation has a great reward in eternity, so let us be bold to stand for Him in all things. It will profit us nothing if we follow this world and its pleasures and lose our souls because we forsook Jesus Christ and His gospel (Mark 8:36).

Remember that if we testify about Him before mankind in acts of righteousness, such as preaching the gospel, healing the sick, showing kindness to others, ministering to the needs of the less privileged and vulnerable, showing forgiveness, etc., Jesus will testify about us to God and cause us to walk in glory (Matthew 10:32). Hallelujah! Glory to God!

Prayer Point: My loving Father, I bless you for your inspiring Word. I pray for our generation to know the truth and to be bold to eschew sin and stand for Jesus Christ wherever we find ourselves. Amen!
