“Although my house be not so with God; yet he hath made with me an everlasting covenant, ordered in all things, and sure: for this is all my salvation, and all my desire, although he make it not to grow.” – 2 Samuel 23:5 (KJV)

King David found favor with God even though he was the least among his brethren: God made an everlasting covenant with him to be his salvation and to always have someone to sit on his throne. No wonder our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ came through the lineage of King David to fulfill a more lasting covenant in the New Testament (Matthew 26:26-29).

Jesus Christ made this eternal covenant with as many who would believe in Him: it is a covenant of His body and His blood so that He will remain in anyone who will accept Him as Lord and personal Savior. In this covenant, you become a partaker of His divine nature as the Son of God, hence all the privileges of Jesus Christ become your inheritance. You become a son or daughter of God and speak with God without any barrier whatsoever; and God who is eternal life becomes your inheritance.

Beloved, if you so much grow this eternal life through faith, prayer, and the Holy Scripture, you come to a place of mature eternal life where you will not partake of physical death, because God is immortal (2 Timothy 1:10). Hallelujah! Enjoy your covenant with Him!

Prayer Point: Dear heavenly Father, thank You for Your everlasting covenant with me. I take advantage of this covenant to have a deeper relationship with You and my Lord Jesus Christ and be blessed. Please lead me to share this wonderful gift with the lost so that they can be saved in Jesus’ name. Amen!
