“Therefore Eli said unto Samuel, Go, lie down: and it shall be, if he call thee, that thou shalt say, Speak, Lord; for thy servant heareth. So Samuel went and lay down in his place.” – 1 Samuel 3:9 (KJV)
Having a good mentor leads to the fulfillment of God’s will. Mentorship is a relationship in which a more experienced or more knowledgeable person helps to guide a less experienced or less knowledgeable person. The mentor may be older or even younger than the person being mentored, but he or she must have a certain area of expertise. Samuel was mentored by Eli, the high priest, even to the point of identifying God’s voice and responding to it appropriately.
Dear beloved, have you identified your calling or purpose in life? If you have, then the next step to take is to ask the Holy Spirit to lead you to someone experienced in that field to mentor you to become what God has ordained you to be. Choose a God-fearing mentor, and the fulfillment of your calling will be easier (Proverbs 1:7).
Hallelujah!
