“Children, obey your parents in the Lord: for this is right. And ye fathers, provoke not your children to wrath: but bring them up in the nurture and admonition of the Lord.” – Ephesians 6:1,4 (KJV)
The Holy Bible has answers to all questions; it has addressed all issues relating to the family (John 1:4). In the opening scripture, it has addressed the relationship that should exist between children and their parents. It first addressed children to be obedient to their parents, which is the right thing to do.
Beloved, God has attached blessings of a long life to obedient children (Ephesians 6:3). He also addressed fathers to raise their children in the nurture and admonition or gentleness of the Lord. He further cautions fathers not to provoke their children to wrath.
Beloved, when children are provoked to wrath, it may cause them to rebel against authority. When children and parents walk in the Word of God, there will be peace, unity, and progress in the family.
Dear beloved, know who you are and live to please God. Praise the Lord! Be an overcomer!
